Our approach in how we process your personal data.

Municipality of Cluj-Napoca is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. We want to be transparent about how we process your personal data and how we comply with the applicable data protection laws.

1. What is the processing of personal data?

Because we refer to processing personal data in this privacy statement, we believe that it is important to specify to you what is understood when we use terms such as ‘personal data’ and ‘processing’.


Personal data This entails data which is related directly or indirectly to you as a natural person. Processing Anything which can be done with your personal data. This includes the collecting, the sorting, the using, passing on and deleting of personal data.

2. Whose personal data do we process?

We process personal data if we have, want to have, or have had a communication exchange or relationship with you, or if we have had contact with you and/or your representatives. The people whose personal data we process include:


People who show interest in our activities, such as visitors to our website,
people who have contacted us by telephone or email, or people who have visited our office;
People who have registered for our newsletter or other mailings;

3. Who processes your personal data?

Municipality of Cluj-Napoca is the controller of the personal data which we process. This means that we are responsible for the processing of your personal data and that we determine the purposes and means of the processing of your personal data.

4. What type of personal data do we process?

We process the following personal data:

5. How do we come into possession of your personal data?

We obtain your personal data because you provide it to us yourself. This can be done in various ways, such as when you contact us, when you submit the join the coalition form or join our newsletter, when you visit our website, or when you provide us with your contact details via email.

6. What do we use your personal data for?

We can only provide you our best service when we know you well. For that we need your personal data and have to process it.

7. How long do we save your personal data?

We do not save your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which we process your personal data. The retention period depends on the purpose for which we have received or collected the data and on any legal obligations to retain data.

8. Who has access to your personal data?

We do not share your personal data with third parties, unless this is necessary for the execution of the agreement or to comply with a legal obligation. We conclude a processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. We remain responsible for these processing operations.

9. Do you have a complaint with regards to the processing of your personal data?

If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data, please contact us directly. We will do our best to find a solution with you. If this does not work, you can always contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

10. Can we make changes to this Privacy Statement?

Yes, we can. We will always publish the most recent version of our Privacy Statement on our website. We therefore recommend that you consult our Privacy Statement regularly so that you are aware of any changes.
